The Fourth of July is a great day for families and fun!
For our 4-legged friends though, it’s a stressful day.
Not only can the exposure of too much sun and heat be dangerous for them, but pets can be easily startled with the sudden sounds of booming fireworks and, even the friendliest dogs can get overwhelmed with a day full of unfamiliar places and crowds. Every year, Animal Care and Control see an increase of lost, found, and injured pet reports around July 4th due to the noises and confusion that fireworks bring to animals. Please don’t let your dog be one of those calls this year. Do your dog a favor and leave them at home on the Fourth. They’ll be more comfortable in the familiar surroundings of their home and you’ll be at ease knowing they are safe.
