4th OF JULY FIREWORKS, YES; FESTIVITIES AT PARK, NO
Due to the Excessive Heat Warning that has been issued by the National Weather Service that will remain in effect through Sunday, the Fourth of July Celebration planned to take place at Walla Walla Point Park will be scaled back this year to include only the professional fireworks display.
All activities, other than the fireworks display planned in the park including entertainment, food vendors, and beer garden have been cancelled for the safety of our community. Walla Walla Point Park will be closed to public beginning at 8pm.
The Wenatchee Big Band’s performance to the firework display will be broadcast on KOHO Radio 101.1 FM as will Kayla Taylor singing the national anthem. The fireworks display will also be broadcasted live on NCW Life typically beginning at 10pm.
With the warm temperatures and dry conditions, we ask everyone to take extra caution. Heat and dry = fire danger. PLEASE consider abstaining from personal firework displays for the sake of your neighbors and friends throughout the region.
